For those of you who might be new to fencing, have you been wondering what that metallic vest is that Serik and Coach are wearing? It’s called a lamé, and it registers a valid hit in electric saber fencing. View a detailed picture of the jacket here. No, no one’s getting shocked in this sport. The connection of sword to lamé simply completes a circuit which runs through a scoring box. It’s pretty cool- there’s plenty of fencing to view over on YouTube.
