My first stab at pastels since, oh, high school? I dreaded this drawing but ended up having fun with it anyway.
Did anyone guess the character from the last post? It’s Boris, Serik’s former coach from Kazakhstan. Looks like he’s moved up in the world, doesn’t he?
The final class drawing is a two-weeker also, so I’ll likely have more comic art up next week. Stay tuned!!

I like this. forgive my ignorance about these things but how do you post them, take a picture?
Yes, I use my camera to photograph them, since my scanner isn’t quite this big. I’ve also found that laying them flat on the patio in full sun gives me the best color and detail, over trying to use a flash or indoor light source. I hold the camera directly perpendicular to the center of the drawing to minimize distortion.
