Outdoor Painting Workshop

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Thanks to Mike Rooney for a great Plein Air workshop this week! We spent two days painting landscapes outdoors. The first day we did four small 6 x 8 panels, and he demonstrated his underpainting techniques. The second day we learned a third technique for painting with the palette knife, and spent the day painting at the local marina. This is my first time doing a lot of outdoor painting, but I really enjoyed it and plan to incorporate some of these techniques into my studio work. You can see more of Mike’s work at his blog.
